I'm searching for suitable ontology tool base to use in a graduate course. What would be suitable for students to use during one semester, light-weight, easy to install (or for remote use) straight forward to use, without cost? Perhaps a single tool supporting RDF, OWL, & inference capabilities?

You may like to try the system and its OWL,RDF and other examples online at the site below.

As you may see, you can type rules and facts into a browser, then run them and get explanations of the results.  (Explanations seem to be particularly valuable when reasoning over RDF). So, the system works as a kind of Wiki for executable content.

For large amounts of data, the system can automatically generate and run SQL queries and transactions over networked databases, and can explain the results at the conceptual level.

Shared use of the system is free.

Some background is in [1,2,3,4].    HTH,   -- Adrian

Your first hand impression with the tool counts more; please suggest.

Have a good day. / Iyi günler dilerim.
