The EC reminds that the IAOA cannot put on the IAOA webpage commercial
advertisements because these are not in the scope of IAOA's aims and because
of accounting restrictions for non-profit organizations in Italy. The
Secretary is authorized to reject corresponding requests without bringing
them to the EC meetings. (09)
The SIG on Design Semantics presented a revised budget for the 2014 meeting.
The EC confirmed to support the event by funding 2,775 EUR for invited
speakers and students. (010)
The EC started discussions on next year's budget planning, e.g. in the light
of several events where IAOA will engage financially. These considerations
will be continued in the next meeting(s). (011)
Starting with the renewal period for 2014 memberships, the IAOA offers a new
registration option in addition to the institutional membership already
available: an institution can register with IAOA covering the registration
of 10 individual members (including the institution's representative). If
the institution's representative is an IAOA Honorary Member, s/he will not
be counted among the 10 individual registrations. (012)
To make registration and renewal smoother, a FAQ on payment of membership by
credit card will be prepared. (013)
The EC is considering making some statistical information about membership
publicly available. (014)
Due to the positive news received, the EC is seriously investigating the
possibility to officially move the IAOA to Switzerland. A detailed proposal
is expected by the end of January 2014. (015)
Giancarlo Guizzardi and Laure Vieu will cease to be IAOA EC members by the
end of 2013. The EC warmly thanks them for their contributions to IAOA, as
EC members and otherwise. They both gave their consent to serve as members
of the IAOA Advisory Board (for the regular term of four years). (016)
