Tuesday 10 PST / 1 EST it shall be then. Peter Yim has made conference capabilties available, conference call details are the same as before .

Thanks Michelle for getting the new pages made etc. I updated the call on the first page.

How long should the call be and what about slides? I'd like to put together around 5 slides talking about standards. Put a couple comments inline with David's message below.

Hi Folks,

I am fine with Tuesday, 10:00 AM PST. Hope we all can talk at that point.

The things that I think we need to discuss are:

1) The use of SVG as a means to build a standards compliant standalone floor plan module that can utilize IFC and complement OPS. This is the opportunity to get something out there to stimulate discussion and act as a vehicle to start the information exchange between building owner/manager/occupants and public safety agencies, particularly the Fire Service. We should coordinate with the New York Fire Department project, Montgomery County, and I can try to also engage the San Francisco Fire Department and Santa Clara County Fire.

Use SVG and open systems to start the information exchange between AECOO (OGC Testbed Architect, Engineer, Contractor, Owner, Operator) and public safety agencies.

Can show the participants in a map on intro page.

2) What is the best way to form our project, given the resources that are available, and our goal to produce a public benefit asset?

Start smaller, create a specific kind of information exchange procedure then demonstrate it, get bigger.

NIST BFRL has a clear mission in this area and I think they should be a major supporter of these efforts. If we want to move some money to a project team of free lance specialists, who would make a good home base to administer such funds? Hopefully we could attract support from several sources while maintaining a clear focus on our objectives and deliverables.

It takes a long time to set up an organization. At this point for the floorplans it is probably more sensible to list out what is needed to accomplish the work whether it is equipment, software, financial support, travel costs, etc - and get a one shot deal distributed at one time. The results will be presented to sponsors of course. Subsequent work may require an organization to administer funds. Accuracy&Aesthetics is a 501c3 nonprofit that will be happy to help and do what we can in regards to interdiciplinary oversight, tapping into pro bono professional services such as legal and accounting available to nonprofit organizations. We currently have an agreement with WALA Washington Area Lawyers for the Arts, each attorney is a specialist but could talk with......an organizations specialist for advise. This will take months and some things are needed to actually create the demonstration.

3) Which resources are available "in kind' from participating organizations versus those free lance consultants that should receive a fee. A small start up budget could go a long way to defining project structure and producing a "Requirements Prototype".

Everyone needs to state what they need.

For the floorplan effort, my wish list is:
A fast, loaded iMac

For future work, Accuracy&Aesthetics could use a few laptops and additional licenses for the software listed before, and sufficient funds for at least 3 board meetings, travel and conference fees so we can present these results to diverse communities.

4) What short term deliverables would be the most beneficial to pursue project funding?

A large scale FloorplanDataExchange using SVG, EDXL, standard access points, IFC, XMLBIM, OPS, and proprietary software like Flash.

A statement of requirements, backed up by a proof of concept demo, within a presentation of benefits to major stakeholders would be good. Deb's "Today.pdf" and the SFC MapLab demo site are a start.

We should explain what kind(s) of specifications will be produced.
