1. Thanks to the concerted effort by folks from NCBO/Stanford-BMIR,
Northeastern University and CIM3, our second deployment of a public
instance of the OOR sandbox has been brought online as of 12-Feb-2010.
This is OOR-sandbox v2.1, and it is powered by the NCBO BioPortal v2.1
technology. The OOR-sandbox is at: http://oor-01.cim3.net/ (010)
The community is invited to upload your open ontologies there, and
help test out this public OOR instance. Kindly provide feedback

2. Coming up next Friday 19-Feb-2010 is an OOR Virtual Session on
"Coordinating OOR Software Development." The session will be chaired
by Mr. Mike Dean (Raytheon BBN). On his panel will be Mr. Jim Chatigny
(Raytheon BBN), Professor Michael Gruninger (University of Toronto),
Professor Ken Baclawski (Northeastern University) and Dr. Natasha Noy
(NCBO/Stanford-BMIR). The agenda includes updates on OOR software
development projects, BioPortal development plans for the near future,
and discussions on various aspects of the management and governance of
OOR software development efforts going forward. Please refer to

3. Also lined up are two Joint Ontolog-OOR virtual panel sessions
(that will be featured shortly after the Ontology Summit is over in

3.1 scheduled for Thursday, 25 March 2010 is a session on "Content"
for the Open Ontology Repository. The target participants of this
session are folks who have ontologies to share, and may find an Open
Ontology Repository with existing or potential features and services
offered by the OOR useful. Our co-chairs for the session will be Dr.
Pat Cassidy (Micra) and Professor Denise Bedford (Kent State

3.2 scheduled for Thursday, 01 April 2010 is our second session on
"Use Cases" for the Open Ontology Repository. This will be the session
where developers/administrators/stewards and users of "ontologies"
will confer with OOR software developers to arrive at specifics that
will help drive our OOR development efforts. Our co-chairs for the
session will be Professor Ken Baclawski (Northeastern University) &
