*REMINDER* (02)
The invited talk by Dr. Tom Gruber on "Grande Challenges for Ontology
Design" is coming up this Thursday 01-Mar-2007 (starting at 1:30pm EST
/ 10:30am PST / 6:30pm BST / 18:30 UTC). (03)
Dr. Tom Gruber, the ex-Stanford researcher who defined the term
"ontology" in the sense we apply to its use in computer science,
artificial intelligence and the semantic web these days, probably
needs no introduction to this community. What sets him apart could
have been his ability to combine his ontology engineering insight with
his entrepreneurship. He has, time and again, produced systems for
knowledge sharing, collaboration, and collective intelligence, that
has made significant impact to much broader audiences than research
and academia. If you are still bugged by the question of "why?" or
"what for?" when it comes to ontologies, then you should be joining us
at Dr. Gruber's talk this Thursday. (04)
RSVP by e-mailing the sender (<peter.yim@xxxxxxxx>) off-line if you
are planning to attend and haven't already responded. (If you aren't
already an Ontolog member, kindly include your name, affiliation and
job title as well in your response.) (05)
We look forward to having you at the session. (06)
