Yes, the web-visibility of messages sent through the google group is the same as it has been through the cim-hosted list.

Anyone on the web can browse and search the messages (just like as browsing and searching the archives of the old list).

Email addresses in those posts are partially obfuscated, to minimize the possibility of harvesting. Again, the cim-hosted list archives have the same feature. 

So, no change here.
