If you *keep* asking "why?", unless you are committed to an irredentist irreducible intentional realism you will fall through into questions  involving natural selection, calcium channels, and particle physics.  The answers will eventually ground out with ENOMEM , FRIN, and "Handled in code".

I do not believe that you believe this result to be what Dennett means.
