It would be helpful if there were an introductory message (an FAQ or a
Guide to Users or something) that provides guidelines for disambiguating
some of the overloaded terms that arise in ontology discussions. For
example, we could use qualified names
owl:Class, when we are talking about class as defined in the OWL semantics
rdf:Class, similarly
vNBG:Class, type-theory:Class, ...
and especially, provide the normative references where newbies (I
include myself) can read up to find out what these definitions are. (01)
Sometimes I don't even know I am using an overloaded term, because I
have only read references that use the term in a particular meaning. (02)
Then if I and other newbies use a term that needs disambiguation,
someone can (gently) remind us to refer to the Guide to Users and
disambiguate our terms before resubmitting our question. (03)
