2: the thread eventually turns into a discussion of cannibalism.

3: usually topic drift would be halted by the list moderator at some point prior to people getting eaten.

4: the list moderator  probably cochaired a workshop this week at ISWC 2010, located in Shanghai.

5: Shanghai is a city in the country of China.

Therefore China exists.

IWE:

1: If ISWC 2010 had occurred as scheduled, and had now finished, someone would have posted a trip report.

2: No-one has posted a trip report.

Therefore: China does not exist.
