My pleasure. As far as for someone being harsh on Whorf, I am not surprised. Everybody sems to be an authority on language, Joe Stalin and his pal Marr used to come out with their lingustic theories too at a time. Recently, Steven Pinker is seen as a great mind in linguistics whereas his book The Stuff of Thought is fully packed with metaphors and is a humpty-dumpty level of academic prose.
