Hi All --

Here's an interesting review of what Wolfram|Alpha currently can and cannot do.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/technology/2009/05/does_wolfram_work.html

I'm guessing that long term success or failure is going to hinge mainly on the economics of curating much more data, and also on improving the natural language front end.

Example: at the moment, the system gives a bad answer to the question "energy independence"  (with or without the quotes), when it should rather say something like "Sorry, no data".

                             Cheers,   -- Adrian
