Forwarding the outcome of this momentous effort from Barry Smith and the NCBO (National Center for Biomedical Ontology) folks. As Barry puts it, a basic introduction to ontology, with special reference to applications in the field of biomedical research. It is designed to be of interest to both philosophers and those with a background in the life sciences. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a solid introduction and for training material in ontology (even if you are not a philosopher or a life scientist.) The content is in streaming video (accompanied by slides and all,) which, incidentally, is probably the world's longest ontology video!
Great work, Barry et al. Regards. =ppy --
