You and your colleagues are invited to Collaborative Expedition workshop
#56 "Towards a Transparent Acquisition Marketplace for Increased Agility
with Open Technology Development". The Department of Defense report on
Open Technology Development (OTD) has put the spotlight on the need for
more agile information technology, including the acquisition of open
source software. The workshop will provide a forum for discussion of how
the acquisition process, measurements of value, and marketplace will need
to adapt if more agile OTD solutions are to be readily procured. The role
of Communities of Practice in advancing this capacity and related
distributed innovations will be also highlighted. The workshop will be
held on Tuesday, December 12, 2006, from 8:30 - 4:30 PM at the National
Science Foundation, Ballston, VA. There is no fee. (02)
