Hi Kathleen -- (01)
This is in reply to your posting on the Ontolog Forum. (02)
We have a rather direct approach to Conceptual Modeling, and to
providing an application based on the model. (03)
It consists in writing the Conceptual Model as tables with English
headings, and as business rules in English. (04)
One can use a browser to do this. One can also then run the rules as as
an application that embodies the Conceptual model, again using a browser. (05)
There's a little example of this, based on what you wrote in your note.
You can look at the example at (06)
www.reengineeringllc.com/demo_agents/FundManagement1.agent (07)
You can also run the example, and get English explanations of the
results. To do this, point a browser to www.reengineeringllc.com .
Click on Internet Business Logic. Then click on the "GO" button.
Select FundManagement1 from the list in the middle of the page. Then
use the menu and help button at the top of the page to see how to run
the example. (08)
You can also use the browser to edit the example. (09)
To see how this approach scales to a large database application (in a
different industry), please look at (010)
www.reengineeringllc.com/Oil_Industry_Supply_Chain_by_Kowalski_and_Walker.pdf (011)
I hope this may be of interest. Thanks in advance for comments. (012)
