On Thursday, June 10th, Dr. Steven Newcomb will be delivering an
invited presentation entitled: "Ontological Engineering and the Topic
Map Reference Model" (02)
Steve will explain why he thinks that this whole Topic Maps thing is
a huge sales opportunity for consultants that do ontological
work. In his experience, Topic Maps compel customers to acknowledge
the importance of careful ontological thinking. Steve will also
explain how Topic Maps are particularly useful if you need to meet
the needs of divergent missions with your ontology, giving you a way
to both segment mission-specific ontologies and have a
straightforward path to integration. (03)
