The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) has announced a new call for
proposals for Project HealthDesign: Rethinking the Power and Potential of
Personal Health Records, a $10-million national program to stimulate
innovations in personal health information technology. Since 2006, the
program has worked to transform the concept of PHRs as data collection tools
to PHRs as a foundation for action and improved health decision-making. In
this round of funding, grantee teams will test whether and how information
about patterns of everyday living can be collected and interpreted such that
patients can take action to better manage their health and clinicians can
integrate new insights into clinical care processes. A total of $2.4
million, with grants of up to $480,000 each, will be awarded to up to five
grantee teams for 24-month demonstration projects. (04)
