[bsp-forum] Project Roadmap > Exportable as text

To follow up on yesterday's conference call -

There is a need to produce a project roadmap. A large number of software programs are available for this purpose, PPY suggest staying with open source where possible, Michelle prefers a program that can be exported as text. 

I have gone to look at Compendium and am in the process of getting signed up. In terms of drawing I like OmniGraffle and think BIM and BIM properties can be useful for this project. The Onuma Planning System may have a number of useful features too, need to play around with it.

The product contractors use that I could not remember yesterday is CPM - this acronym can stand for Corporate Performance Management AND Critical Path Project Planning and Management. Critical Path Management is what I mean. CPM charts show relationships between dependent tasks, materials coming and going, and time. Its easy to use, the results are not gorgeous but they communicate. For example, a contractor once showed me a CPM chart he made for Thanksgiving day preparations. I have not been able to quickly find an open version of CPM but will look around.
