Agenda & Proceedings (6UV)
1) Welcome (6UW)
- KurtConrad took the chair and welcomed everyone. (6UX)
2) Appointment of secretary to take minutes (6UY)
3) Roll-call of participants (6V0)
4) Communication logistics & work protocols (6V2)
- a. Falling-off of participation (6V3)
- (6V4)
- possible causes: (6V5)
- summer (6V6)
- BillMcCarthy had two standards group deliverables he had to attend to because of hard deadlines (6V7)
- Lack of a "central" work piece -- which is the ubl-ontology that we need to be working on. (6V8)
- possible causes: (6V5)
- (6V9)
- possible remedies: (6VA)
- would a face-to-face meeting which makes hard deadlines do the trick? (6VB)
- upcoming UBL and UN/CEFACT meeting dates discussed. BillMcCarthy says he's planning to be at the Seoul UN/FACT meeting. (6VC)
- The UBL agenda was also discussed. We (ontolog) might want to find out how we can be more in sync with the UBL activities. (6VD)
- revive the work AdamPease has started, so that the rest of the community can use that as a focal point for continued discussion. (6VE)
- possible remedies: (6VA)
- It is strongly recommended that people respond to the FreeConference invitation with their RSVPs, so that we can plan our agenda better. (6VF)
- b. Announcing http://vnc4.cim3.net:5800 (6VG)
- this server will be able to host a lot more people (large meeting, seminars) (6VH)
- can support people who are behind firewalls (prior arrangements and client software necessary) (6VI)
- MonicaMartin and PeterYim will try to test it out (with the Sun's firewall in place). (6VJ)
- c. Tools registry (6VK)
- PeterYim provided some context on the "registry" discussion. (6VL)
- FarrukhNajmi introduced the open sourced ebXML RR work and their desire to align with the Semantic Web activities (6VM)
- v2.5 (effective v3.0) is good for taxonomies; (6VN)
- future v4.0 should be better designed for ontologies; work on this is starting short (6VO)
- Farrukh invites people from the ontolog community to collaborate and participate in this work (6VP)
- suggestion: start with v2.5's generic content management capabilities, and, in parallel collaborate with ebxml rr to make v4.0 the suitable registry for our purpose. (6VQ)
- Farruhk's take: the crux of the matter is to answer "what implications will there be on the current registry information model for it to align with semantic content management?" (6VR)
- Farruhk will post a presentation he is working on to give us a better overview on some of his thinkings. (6VS)
5) Future tutorials (6VT)
- repeat of the AdamPease tutorial (6VU)
- MonicaMartin and BillMcCarthy both want to see the repeat done. (6VV)
- BillMcCarthy will rekindle the thread to see if we can get critical mass in terms of interest to get AdamPease to do the tutorial again. (6VW)
- Follow-on tutorial (6VX)
- KurtConrad and PeterYim will discuss that with AdamPease when they meet early July (which they are planning to do.) (6VY)
6) Status on use cases (http://ontolog.cim3.net/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?UseCases) (6VZ)

- c. Mapping to other representations (JohnYunker / PeterYim / SueProbert) (6W2)
