Agenda & Proceedings (DFA)
- Professor James A. Hendler from the University of Maryland will be doing a "Semantic Web Q & A" with the community (DFB)
[Professor James Hendler] (DFC)
Abstract (by Professor Hendler): (DFD)
The Ontolog community has heard many presentations touching on what the Semantic Web is, how it interacts with ontology development and/or web services, and what semantics might offer. By now, you must have questions you want answered about the hows and whys of RDF, OWL, and the emerging Semantic Web Rules and Services areas. Rather than an organized talk, I will put myself at your disposal to answer questions about what these technologies are, how they can be used, and where they'll go next. So come and ask, and I'll do my best to answer. (DFE)
- Session Format: this will be virtual session over a phone conference setting, augmented by shared computer screen support (DFF)
- In view of the fact that we are pressed for time, we will skip the normal attendee introductions. Please try to populate your namesake page on this wiki if you haven't already done so (especially if you are a member of the community.) (DFG)
- Professor Hendler will then make some opening statements to set the stage for the discussion (~5 min.) (DFH)
- we will then go into an Open Discussion between the participants and the invited speaker (60~75 min.) (DFI)
- Pleasae identify yourself, by announcing your name and affiliation, before posing a question (especially since we aren't doing the intros at the beginning). (F0O)
- We will try to limit the discussion of each item to a few minutes, so as to allow us to cover the broad range of topics that the Semantic Web may entail. The moderator may interrupt and direct the session to move onto the next subject, if a specific item tends to be taking too long. (F0P)
