Joel, (01)
You might want to take note of the exchange below. I would be
wonderful to have Cornell participate as an academic member of OASIS
(as we had briefly discussed, previously.) (02)

Professor Davenport,
OASIS would welcome your participation in the new QUOMOS Technical
Committee. (05)
Our membership roster is divided across three pages. (Please accept my
apologies for the confusion; we are working on a site redesign now that will
unite this data onto a single page.) In addition to the Foundational Sponsor
list you've read, we also have Sponsor and Contributor members:
http://www.oasis-open.org/about/index.php
http://www.oasis-open.org/about/contributors.php (06)
If you are an employee of any of the organizations listed on those pages,
you will be able to join the QUOMOS TC at no additional fee. Simply create
your own user account/password at
http://www.oasis-open.org/kmembership_info/person_signup (07)
If you are not employed by a current member organization, we'd certainly be
happy to have the University of Bath join OASIS. Our current academic
members include the University of Manchester, University of Hong Kong,
University of Rome, University of Rostock Germany, University of Tokyo,
Carnegie-Mellon, University of California at Berkeley... Annual OASIS
Contributor-level dues for academic institutions are 1,100 USD. (08)
Please let me know how I can help. (09)
Best regards,
Carol (010)

Do note that the first QUOMOS meeting is scheduled
to be held on Thursday 21 January 2010, from 18.30-20.30 UTC; and
to be considered a voting member at the first meeting, you must join
this OASIS QUOMOS TC on/before 14 January 2010. Those who are not already
a member of OASIS should start working on that, as there is a process
(which may take between hours to days) to become a member. See the
OASIS website [b] for details. (022)
[JD] Um - looks difficult. As an academic, I suppose I
could join as an individual, but that looks like a lot of work (and money). I
can't find complete lits of memebrs on the site (I always get the
foundational memebrs only), so don't know if any of the organisations I
work with ARE members. (023)
Sorry to be so negative, but I have the date in my diary
anyway. (024)

[ppy] Thank you for the message, James. You might want to contact
the
OASIS folks (Scott McGrath, for example - ref.

membership status of any particular institution (and the primary
contact there) you have in mind. (028)
