Colleagues...

Two weeks remain before the UCGIS Symposium May 20-23. The program is one
of the best ever for UCGIS, containing a diverse collection of topics
about Collabration and GIScience 2.0 from many organizational and scholar
perspectives. See the program at...
http://ucgis2.org/event-item/preliminary-program

Many GIScience leaders from government, industry, and academia will address
the current status, opportunities, challenges, and future R&D needs of
GIScience. Important initiatives will be discussed such as EarthCube,
GeoPlatform.gov, GIS BoK 2.0, Big Data, and the Sustainability Learning
Communities Network (SLCN).

During the SLCN Pre-Symposium Workshop participants will discuss
opportunities for contributing to sustainability research coordination,
sustainability education coordination, and sustainability outreach
coordination from across the nation. We will discuss  coordinating
development of on-line platforms to support sustainability knowledge
building activity.

Registration for the symposium as well as the pre-symposium workshops
is open at ...

Although the UCGIS room block at The Mason Inn has been released to the
general public, anyone wanting the UCGIS special rate can call
Jose Gonzalez at 703-865-4279.  The conference rate is $15 below the
standard rate that rates by night.

best regards,
Tim Nyerges
Past President
