The Ontology Summit (OS) is now in session. There are virtual panel
sessions every Thursday (since the Jan-17 Launch Event) and these will
culminate in a May 2-3 F2F Symposium at NIST (Gaithersburg, MD.)
Other activities like a software (tools and environments) survey, a
"hackathon," as well as ontology clinics and application clinics, are
being featured this year. The OS organizers are encouraging
collaborative project proposals for the "hackathon" and clinics, the
results from such projects will be presented at the Ontology Summit
Symposium. Details will be announced at this Thursday's Ontology
Summit panel session - ref.

Nancy asked whether getting geo-data transformed would be an
interesting topic for a hackathon project ... Peter said that this
year's Ontology Summit theme is on "Ontology Evaluation" and
therefore, if there are ontology evaluation aspects (validation,
verification, quality assurance, testing, etc.) in that geo-data
transformation exercise, then it would be; especially if the the
project involves multi-party collaboration (which is also one of the
motivations for these activities. Peter Fox and ESIP had indicated
interest in participating in these activities too.
