I too would like to add my condolences and sorrow on this unfortunate event.
Rob was for many years a firm supporter and also a guide as we worked to bring
geosemantics into various communities from the Open Geospatial Consortium to
the W3C and the federal government. I hope and trust that his spirit will live
on in efforts he jumpstarted to develop common vocabularies which allow diverse
knowledge communities to share their data with each other and collaborate in
