Hi Peter and all,
Our building has a scheduled fire drill during the SOCoP call, so I
don't know what times I'll be on or off. Further, I'm still involved
with getting the NSF grant set up here. I haven't had time to do much
more than that.
Maybe people on the call Wednesday would have an idea of what
conference or group we should have a session at. James Wilson emailed
something about AAG, but I'm not familiar with that although it sounds
good. We should also think about whether we will just do an educational
session or if we're strategically looking for a domain use case. We
could talk about how to target a domain area and get use cases.
In that regard, there was an international coastal atlas meeting here
in Madison last week (ICAN with Dawn Wright), and, although Luis
Bermudez was actively involved with that, I don't believe all the
semantic problems were solved. And, Wisconsin, for example, has proposed
to build a Wisconsin coastal atlas, which has additional semantic issues.
I'd also like to see us help push forward some agreement in spatial
representation, which maybe has been solved by Todd or the USGS or OGC.
?? I'm interested in what the state of that is and whether we should get
involved.

I plan to attend ... especially to get the "update on the NSF
CyberInfrastructure grant award to Nancy Wiegand (UW) and plans for
starting work." (03)
Unfortunately (as usual) I need to drop off shortly after the first 30
minutes to make another standing engagement. Therefore, if we could do
that item earlier, that would be wonderful ... or, if need be, another
meeting specifically devoted to this topic may be good too (or both,
even). (04)
Thanks & regards. =ppy
