I used the hashtag #OntologySummit on the day, not knowing one had been set up. (01)
Not sure what value the additional 4 characters '2013' (or even 2 characters
'13') add to this. (02)
The year is useful if you are using an acronym and want a reasonably sure way
of disambiguating with other things of a similar acronym - so if one is going
to set up a hashtag in advance and publicise it, one would use #os2013 for
example since #os could be anything (the date at least informally suggests this
must be some event). (03)
The middle ground is something like #OSummit13 or #OntSummit - again only if
publicized in advance. (04)
The only useful application of a long hashtag is if there is not the chance to
publicise it in advance, and you want people who read someone's tweets to be
able to guess what the event is. (05)
