Thank you for your efforts Peter. The Ontolog collection of ideas, opinions, and expertise are incredibly valuable for nonprofit and educational organizations to refer to and learn before beginning their requirements document or contracting ontology design services. There is no where else to find such direct wide sweeping exchange of ideas and information on such a complex subject.
Sincerely,
Deborah MacPherson Projects Director, Accuracy&Aesthetics

Ontology Summit 2007 has been a real experience.
Highlight:
* the summit was co-sponsored by 49 institutions -- which included some of the most prestigious organizations in the broader domain. See:
http://ontolog.cim3.net/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?OntologySummit2007#nidT6A
* about 400 messages were exchanged on the [ontology-summit] forum
since the 18-Jan-2007 OntologySummit2007 Launch. Another ~1200 messages were exchanged on [ontolog-forum] between Jan~Apr'07. -- Generating a totally unprecedented level of activities (within the community) in rigorous discourse among some of the best minds in the
field. See, respectively: http://ontolog.cim3.net/forum/ontology-summit/ & http://ontolog.cim3.net/forum/ontolog-forum/
* 52 people responded to the OntologySummit2007_Survey, engaging participants from the broader community involving some 34 constituencies. See:
http://ontolog.cim3.net/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?OntologySummit2007_Survey
* (to date) the OntologySummit2007_Communique has been endorsed by 56 individuals. See:

1. We'll be devoting some time at today's regular Ontolog operations planning and review call to do a postmortem, and to discussion some
possible follow-up actions. You are invited to come join us at the call. See details at: http://ontolog.cim3.net/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?ConferenceCall_2007_05_03
2. In the last OntologySummit2007 organizing committee meeting (Tue 2007.05.01), a similar exercise was conducted. Anyone interested can see the proceedings from that call at:
http://ontolog.cim3.net/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?OntologySummit2007/OrganizingCommitteeMeeting_2007_05_01#nid10UN
3. A few suggestions were received to re-open the dialog to further refine the Summit Communique and come up with a "next version" of the
document. After due discussion it was decided that since this communique serves well to represent a snapshot position of the summit conveners, we will (after correcting typos and formatting enhancement where applicable) just leave it at version
1.0 for now. We would, however, invite the community to post their comments and further suggestions, which we can use as a reference for future work. Please post them to:
