SCOPE Ontology content creation and use became a topic of utmost relevance in a world increasingly in the need to make sense of floods of data and information. Although the ontology engineering field is well established and produced useful results for practice, the creation and use of ontology content in the real world lacks theoretical and empirical knowledge, needing more research effort. Furthermore, the study of ontology content is a challenging research area because of its inherent multi-disciplinarity: the object of study is socio-technical and the contexts of its use are socially determined. The OnToContent workshop aims to debate the current and future challenges of ontology content creation, use and management in aspects such as methodologies and tools concerned with developing ontology content, ontology content evaluation, ontology content management and ontology governance. The workshop also aims to give special attention to the impact of ontologies and their content in real life domains such as business, employment, healthcare, community development, and participatory government. We welcome papers that describe and discuss ontology content aspects, particularly: - Research papers presenting theory, methods, models or tools with a clear illustrations on how they can be applied in real world contexts and situations; - Position papers presenting opinions on some aspect of ontology practice, or describing work that is still in progress, but sufficiently mature to warrant attention; - Rich experiences and case studies describing success stories, problem situations, needs and opportunities of developing and using of ontologies in businesses and industry, government and public administration, non-profit and grass-root organizations. TOPICS OF INTEREST The indicative topics for the OnToContent workshop are the following: • Methods and tools for ontology content development
• Models and theories for specific domains • Ontology Content and Data Science • Ontology Content and Linked Data • Ontology Content and the Semantic Web • Multi-disciplinary approaches to ontology content development • Case studies and applications of ontology content development in • Business and Industry • Healthcare and Life Sciences • Community Development • Participatory Government • Public Administration SUBMISSION GUIDELINES Each submitted paper will be refereed by at least three members of the Workshop Program Committee, based on its originality, significance, technical soundness, and clarity of _expression_. Submissions must be in English, and may discuss industrial experience or academic research. Papers should not exceed 5,000 words (excluding references and appendices), and should not exceed 10 pages in the final camera-ready format. Only electronic submissions in Adobe PDF format are acceptable. Author instructions can be found at:http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html All accepted workshop papers (regular papers or short papers) will be published by Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) and indexed by ISI, ACM Digital Library and DBLP. Additionally, extended versions of the best papers from the Workshop may be considered for a submission in a special issue of an International Journal indexed by ISI Thomson Reuter. Failure to commit to presentation at the workshop automatically excludes a paper from the Conference Proceedings. WORKSHOP FORMAT ORGANISATION The Workshop Program will be scheduled for one day duration and it will be organised with oral presentations of the selected papers followed by a debate on subjects related to the presentations. The debate will also include networking between the participants looking for future collaboration (e.g. in Horizon2020 programs).
