I agree that there are many different ways of making various tools
-- SQL, SemWeb tools, etc -- do what is needed for various applications.    (02)

But the point I was trying to make is that adopting a very expressive
semantics right at the beginning -- Common Logic, for example, or
SWeLL (Semantic Web Logic Language) -- provides a road map that shows
how the semantics of all the specialized tools are interrelated.    (03)

Without such a framework, you get a huge amount of ad hoc kludges
to cover every special case that arises.    (04)

It is very sad that Tim B-L's goal of making SWeLL the unifying
logic was lost in the shuffle.    (05)
