Symposium (face-to-face workshop) can provide the opportunity for
those who are interested in this topic that you have discussed to meet
and discuss the matter. Since tyour "Sharing and Integrating
Ontologies" subject matter is essentially an extension of the topics
from previous summits (namely 2006 & 2008, tackling upper ontologies
and OOR.)
At today's Summit Organizing Committee, it was decided

that we will run this post-summit session after the Summit Sympoisum
officially closes at 3:30pm on Tue Mar-16. We figure that 1.5-Hours

Therefore, we will make arrangements to carve out the time-slot below
for that purpose:
Tue 16-Mar-2010 3:45~5:15pm - post-summit follow-up session
(at the Gaithersburg meeting venue, with remote participation support)
Any other individual proposing to organize a meet-up of this nature
(follow-ups on previous summit topics) to take advantage of the
co-location, should contact Steve Ray with your plan to work out the
details.

Steve,
I'm organizing the excerpts from the recent email on ontolog forum
with some related background material. I'll post a draft on my
web site by the end of this week, and I'll post a note to ontolog
forum for further discussion. In response to that discussion,
I'll update the draft and post it by March 12th.
In addition to the full text, I'll make about 10 slides that
summarize the issues. Those slides will be primarily bullet
items as a stimulus for discussion. I expect the discussion
to take about an hour.
Suggestion:
After the formal ending of the Summit, we could take a 15 min break.
Then we'd need a one-hour time slot. As a working title for that
slot, I propose "Sharing and Integrating Ontologies."
The lattice of theories would be one topic, but Pat Cassidy's
proposal for a Foundation Ontology would also be covered,
together with related issues about the relationships to the
OOR and the various ontologies that have been developed
and used over the years. I'll send an outline to this
group by the end of this week.
