ICBO, the International Conference on Biomedical Ontologies, will be held in Buffalo, NY from July 23-26, 2009. Papers and posters are invited on all aspects of biomedical ontology.
March 1: Deadline for submission of papers
March 24: Notification of acceptance of papers
April 10: Deadline for submission of posters
April 20: Notification of acceptance of posters
June 10: Deadline for submission of camera-ready copy
July 20-23: Co-located tutorials and classes
July 24-26: ICBO Conference
A number of fellowships will be available to support participation by students and by early-career researchers (less than 5 years from award of PhD). To apply for one of these fellowships please submit your CV and research statement before March 1 to ontology@xxxxxxxxxxx.
All accepted papers will be published in a volume of Proceedings to be distributed at the meeting. In addition, a number of papers will be selected for further refereeing for publication in the following journals:
- for papers on foundational aspects of ontology: Applied Ontology (IOS Press)
- for papers on databases and curation: Database: The Journal of Biological Databases and Curation (Oxford University Press)
- for papers on biomedical ontology: Journal of Biomedical Informatics (Elsevier)
