We had a very successful launch on Thursday,
18-Jan-2007 for the "Ontology Summit 2007" program. Dr.
Steven Ray (NIST), Dr. Leo Obrst (Ontolog, MITRE) and
Mr. Peter Yim (Ontolog, CIM3) co-moderated the session,
with a illustrious group of participants. As Dr. Ray
remarked, it was a very thought provoking kick-off. We
are looking forward to 3 months of vigorous virtual
discourse, and the two-day face-to-face workshop at the
NIST campus (Gaithersburg, Maryland, USA) on April 23 &
24, 2007. (01)
We would like to thank everyone who were able to join
us today, and all who will be contributing to this
effort. Special appreciation goes the members of our
"Ontology Summit 2007" organizing committee for putting
this program together. They include: (02)
Dr. Olivier Bodenreider (NLM, NIH)
Dr. Nicola Guarino (LOA-CNR.IT)
Dr. Ivan Herman (W3C)
Dr. Deborah McGuinness (Stanford -SL)
Dr. Mark Musen (NCOR, NCBO, Stanford-SMI)
Dr. Leo Obrst (Ontolog, MITRE)
Dr. Steve Ray (NIST)
Dr. Barry Smith (NCOR, SUNY-Buffalo)
Dr. Chris Welty (IBM Research)
Mr. Peter Yim (Ontolog, CIM3) (03)
