Thank you, Chris and Dave.

Developing a strategic concept for advancing adoption of EHRs in collaboration projects vis a vis OpenVistA,
and leveraging the technical support of  WorldVistA is a good idea and should be explored further.

[ontolog-forum] Re: Ontolog Invited Speaker Session - David Whitten & ChrisRichardson - Thu 2005.06.16

We had an awesome presentation today, by David Whitten and Chris
Richard, talking to the community about the VistA & OpenVistA
system. The two gentlemen also shared their insight on how
ontologies have been and could be used to enhance a large and
complex hospital/patient record system like OpenVistA.

We also had great discussions during and after their
presentation. Of particular interest is the possibility of
Ontolog,  OpenVistA, and other communities (like SICoP & Protege)
collaborating, to jointly contribute to the National Health
Information Network (NHIN) initiative.

Thank you very much, David and Chris, for your very inspiring
talk. Thanks are due, as always, to those who participated at the
session too!

Material from today's event is available on our wiki at:
http://ontolog.cim3.net/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?ConferenceCall_2005_06_16

... in particular, the digitized (mp3) audio recording of the
entire talk and the ensuing discussion has now been posted. That
will be archived in our knowledge repository for reference and
download by anyone interested. Additionally, for the next 10
days, telephone playback will also available. See details at:

Thanks & regards.  =ppy

P.S. Our next event is scheduled for 10:30am ~ 12:30pm PDT on
Thursday May 26, 2005. Professor William E. McCarthy from
Michigan State University will be moderating a panel discussion
on "Service Sciences."  Please mark your calendars now, and watch
out for coming announcement on additional details.  =ppy
