Mr. Mark Palmer from NIST will be giving a virtual presentation 
entitled: "Building a Conceptual Framework for eBusiness Standards 
Convergence" tomorrow.    (02)

The presentation will provide an introduction to the objectives and work 
plan of the *eBusiness Standards Convergence (eBSC) Forum* and will 
explain the work on an eBusiness Standards Capabilities Matrix and a 
Conceptual Framework for eBusiness Capabilities and Standards. The 
presentation will describe the challenges and insights of developing 
this conceptual framework and welcome input from the other participants 
at this session.    (05)

About the Speaker:    (06)

Mark Palmer is a project manager at the Building and Fire Research 
Laboratory of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). 
Mr. Palmer conducts research on the integration of information 
technology, automation and work process optimization to improve 
engineering, manufacturing and construction. Mr. Palmer is active in 
national and international standards development activities and numerous 
industry organizations. This has included leading collaboration projects 
on information modeling and systems interoperability and cross-industry, 
information standards projects.    (07)

Currently, Mr. Palmer leads two projects for the NIST Systems 
Integration for Manufacturing Applications program: “Interoperability 
Standards for Capital Facilities Equipment” and “eBusiness Standards 
Convergence” and coordinates these projects with the BFRL Construction 
Integration and Automation Technology program. He chairs the eBusiness 
Standards Convergence Forum and the U.S. Technical Advisory Group to 
UN/CEFACT, and he is a vice-chair for UN/CEFACT (United Nations Centre 
for Trade Facilitation and Electronic Business).    (08)
