Dear Protege users,    (01)

we are pleased to announce a major update of the
OWL Plugin for Protege. Progress has been continuous
during the past weeks, but we now have reached a
milestone of sorts. While prior versions crashed on
some basic user actions (deleting instances and defining
enumerated classes), the latest build 07 fixes these bugs.    (02)

Apart from the lack of true namespace support, Protege
is now rapidly evolving into an almost complete editor
for the Web Ontology Language and Semantic Web contents.
It might be even sufficiently stable for routine use now
(unless you wish to make use of some very Protege-specific
features).    (03)

To try it, please download the latest version of
Protege 2.0 alpha and then unzip the OWL Plugin file
into the plugins directory:
http://protege.stanford.edu/plugins/owl/    (04)

We appreciate feedback from users so that we can improve
the general stability and performance. Several people have
already contributed valuable comments and bug reports, and
it is very encouraging to see how the user group is growing
into a real online community.    (05)

Holger    (06)
