Ron,    (01)

Good question ... allow me to copying everyone else (some of whom
will probably have the same question) ...    (02)

1. Please refer to our Virtual_Speaker_Session_Tips at:
http://ontolog.cim3.net/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?VirtualSpeakerSessionTips#nidBMG    (03)

2. We've actually learnt that (even if you can control the slides
yourself), it actually works out better to have someone else (I
usually do it for the speakers) advance the slides ... and you,
as the speaker, will only need to call out the "advance" and
"slide#" (as part of the presentation that gets recorded).    (04)

3. The reason why this works better is that the real time
participants are only 'part' of your audience. We'll end up
having more than ten times that many, who will be going through
the session in asynchronous mode (browsing the slides, hearing
the audio recording, getting it from podcast, ... etc. ...
sometimes even that many every month). Therefore, tomorrow's
session is somewhat akin to a studio recording session with
"some" live audience. The async audience, of course, will only be
able to sync-up if the slide advances are explicitly called out
(which would be so easy to forget, when you are doing it
yourself) ... and that's why!    (05)

4. Of course, it'll be much better if you are on the same VNC
shared-screen as the rest of the audience (you then see exactly
what they are seeing too.) There is no software to be installed.
You would only need to point you (java-enabled) browser to the
vnc server URL that is provided on the session page (check out
http://ontolog.cim3.net/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?ConferenceCall_2006_08_10#nidP0H
... if you can log in and see the Ontolog WikiHomePage on your
screen now, you are in business!)    (06)

5. People behind tight corporate firewalls may have trouble
connecting (it's policy, not technology that is stopping it.)
There are some hints at:
http://ontolog.cim3.net/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?VirtualSpeakerSessionTips#nidBM9
to circumvent the situation ... but some may still have trouble.
That's why we will be asking those people to run your slides on
their own desktop, and following your instructions whenever you
call up the slide advance.    (07)

Hope this helps!    (08)

I look forward to your brief tomorrow. =ppy
