[okmds-org] FW: Federal Consoritum for Second Life Meeting

Is there a segment on this program from NASA mentioning the okmds initiative?

 

And for the charter, I had some thoughts.

 

• A number of organizations have decided using KM, data mining, knowledge capture for decision support is a good idea.  Can we pitch the OKMDS initiative as a "further enhancement" of those efforts?  Perhaps easier to push a moving car along if it's already in motion.
• With two big initiatives, Second Life and Ontologies to enhance decision support, I wonder if we can clearly explain both?  Or should we concentrate on one?  Or one at a time?  Is our audience current practitioners so there is less of a learning curve?

Subject: Federal Consoritum for Second Life Meeting

Attached is a flier that gives information on the Federal Consortium for Second Life conference, November 16^th, 2007 from 8am-4pm at the National Defense University with a reception from 4:30-7 at the Ft. McNair Officer’s Club.  The cost of the meeting is $35 to cover meals and refreshments.  Registration on pay.gov will be open no later than November 1.  I will send out an email to everyone on my contact list when the form is up and ready for registration.  Updates on information and logistical information will be on the website created for the conference at: http://www.ndu.edu/irmc/fedconsortium.htm by then end of the week, October 19^th, 2007.  

We have room for 100 participants.  Government employees and contractors working on federal government virtual world projects will be given preference.  Please feel free to pass this email and flier to anyone in the Federal Government who is interested in Second Life or virtual worlds.  To be added to the email information list, contact Paulette Robinson at robinsonp@xxxxxxx.
