Seventy seventh meeting of the IAOA Executive Council (EC) Virtual Meeting

The EC meeting started with the open session on Special Interest Groups
(SIGs) and Technical Committees (TCs). The SIGs on Design Semantics and on
Geospatial Semantics and the TC on Education reported on the status of the
groups and their activities. (011)
The EC continued the meeting discussing the status of the IAOA 2013 budget. (012)
The IAOA has received one new request for funding events mainly in the form
of reimbursement of one keynote speaker's traveling expenses. (013)
Generally, the EC notices that funding policies require refinements. The
funding of keynote speakers of co-organized and of supported events is under
consideration, e.g. concerning requiring IAOA membership in these cases.
Particular attention will be paid to funding student grants to participate
in events. The overall matter is to be continued during one of the next
meetings. (014)
The EC has decided to fund the Workshop on Modular Ontologies (WoMO) 2013
with 1000 EUR for the expenses of a keynote speaker and 2000 EUR for student
grants. (015)
The EC has decided to offer a 3-year free membership to the winner of the
2013 Ontology Summit hackathon. (016)
The IAOA Summer Institute has not yet received many requests for
participation. Registration is still open and the EC reminds IAOA members
that the Association has a budget of 3000 Euro to fund members'
participation. A final decision on the Summer Institute will be taken on
April 16 after registration closes. (017)
Soon the IAOA assembly will be called to a virtual meeting to vote on the
2012 IAOA financial statement and the 2013 provisional budget. The President
will distribute the official announcement. Here is the provisional schedule
