Dear all,    (01)

It is a great pleasure to announce that, after a strict evaluation
process, Applied Ontology has now been included in Thomson Reuters (formerly
ISI) Science Citation Index Expanded and Current Contents/Engineering,
Computing and Technology, as well as in Elsevier Scopus.    (02)

This marks an important milestone for our journal, which is now officially
recognized as covering its own peculiar niche in scientific literature
worldwide. We are especially proud of this result, and would like to thank all
the members of the Editorial Board, the authors who choosed to submit, all the
reviewers, our editorial assistant Roberta Ferrario and the professional and
helpful staff at IOS Press, for their trust in our journal and their continued
support.    (03)

We are sure this result will encourage more scholars to consider our
journal as a reference publication in our field, and we look forward to an
increased recognition in the broader scientific community.    (04)

Best wishes to everybody,    (05)

Nicola Guarino and Mark Musen
Editors in Chief, Applied Ontology    (06)
