The EC is happy to announce the members of the recently constituted IAOA
Advisory Board: (010)
Anthony Cohn (University of Leeds, UK)
Antony Galton (University of Exeter, UK)
Pat Hayes (IHMC, USA)
Ian Horrocks (University of Oxford, UK)
Christopher Menzel (Texas A&M University, USA)
Mark Musen (Stanford University, USA)
John Mylopoulos (University of Trento, Italy)
Barry Smith (University at Buffalo, USA)
John Sowa (VivoMind Intelligence, USA)
Chris Welty (IBM Research, USA) (011)
The EC thanks all the IAOA Advisory Board (AB) members for accepting to sit on
the AB to help foster the IAOA goals. (012)
Soon the first IAOA SIG, on ontology and conceptual modeling, will be launched.
Giancarlo Guizzardi, Oscar Pastor and Yair Wand will organize it. (013)
The final budget of FOIS 2010 presents a loss of 2000 Euros. The IAOA will
cover these costs with internal funds. (014)
Soon it will be possible to renew membership for 2011. The website and the new
form are ready and will be made accessible starting from the beginning of
December. (015)
At the next EC meeting the IAOA treasurer will make a proposal for reduced IAOA
membership fees for less developed countries. (016)
The process to prepare the IAOA Bylaws is going slower than expected. The EC
has scheduled a full meeting dedicated to this issue in December. After a first
review and clean-up of the ByLaws draft by the EC, it will be opened up to the
entire IAOA membership for review and feedback.
The goal is to have the ByLaws ready for adoption by the 2011 IAOA Annual
General Assembly (date not set yet). (017)
(End of Report) (018)
