Twentieth meeting of the IAOA Executive Council (EC)

This was the first meeting of the newly elected IAOA EC. The IAOA EC agreed to immediately elect president, vice-president and secretary. After considering that there was strong agreement on the candidates to elect, it was decided that a formal vote was not necessary. Following the Statute, the following positions have been filled by acclamation:

President: Nicola Guarino

Vice-president: John Bateman

Secretary: Peter Yim

Furthermore, the IAOA EC confirmed Laure Vieu as treasurer of the Association.

The IAOA EC expresses its satisfaction for the quality of the four above mentioned people and for the distribution of roles across different geographical as well as disciplinary areas.

The rest of the meeting concentrated on the organization of the Assembly session taking place the same day in the afternoon. It was decided to begin with the president presenting the status of the association. As a way to introduce the IAOA EC members, it was decided that each step in to present a different topic. Borgo was appointed to chair the Assembly.

The IAOA EC began a discussion to clarify the role of the advisory board. This discussion will be the topic of a subsequent meeting. Other initiatives have been mentioned, the IAOA EC decided to postpone any further decision after the Assembly to have some guide from the members on the association's priorities for this year.
