Title: The Suggested Upper Merged Ontology (SUMO) at Age 7: Progress and Promise    (13QX)

Seven years have elapsed since the birth of the SUMO project (http://www.ontologyportal.org) in the summer of the year 2000. This talk will describe the SUMO, it's history, and promise for the future. The structure of SUMO will be covered along with decisions in representation that make it practical and powerful for inference. The SUMO domain ontologies will be described. The annual SUMO prize will be discussed, along with the SUMO submission to the TPTP theorem proving test set and competition. Several applications of SUMO in both the research and commercial world will be discussed.    (13JB)
