I am a post-doc at the University of Münster, Germany, in the MUSIL group. My main area of interest is the development of semantic reference systems for describing geospatial data. These are formal systems about geographic referents, such as places, events, objects and their qualities. I was visiting scholar at UCSB, working with Prof. Krzysztof Janowicz on "place reference systems", i.e., semantic reference systems for geographic places. I wrote my Ph.D. at the University of Münster on information grounding (Grounding geographic information in perceptual operations). I have worked in the area of spatial knowledge discovery at the Fraunhofer Institute for Intelligent Analysis and Information Systems (IAIS) in Bonn, Germany. I hold a doctorate in Geoinformatics from the University of Münster and a diploma in Applied Geography from the University of Trier, Germany.    (3FXP)
