OntologySummit2012: (Track-2) "Large-scale engineered systems" Synthesis (32DB)
Mission Statement: (32DC)
Track 2 will focus on the ontology of large-scale engineered systems. We will look at such issues as the lifecycle of large systems and the difference between requirements and the delivered system, systems vs systems of systems, systems behaviour, the nature of system components and the difference between these and the parts installed, and the connections between system components and what they carry. Also of interest are principles of how to construct good quality reusable models (ontologies). We will also look at issues around the management of ontologies of and for large systems and the challenges in developing and maintaining them. (32E6)
