Michael is a Chief Software Architect working for National Center for Biomedical Ontology (NCBO) at Biomedical Informatics Reserach (BMIR) department at Stanford University. His research interests include new developments in the realm of Big Data and NoSQL databases, enterprise development frameworks, as well as tools and frameworks that address issues of scalability and performance.    (1ZIM)

Michael is a primary developer on the BioPortal REST API project. BioPortal is an open repository that stores biomedical ontologies developed in OWL, RDF, OBO, and Protégé formats. It provides REST APIs that enable accessing ontological data both programmatically as well as via a web browser.    (3GB5)
