Dr. Luis Bermudez is responsible for the strategy, development and management of the Compliance Program at the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC), the world leader organization focused on geospatial standards. He has a Ph.D. and M.S. in Environmental Informatics from Drexel University.    (3ZB1)

Dr. Bermudez has more than 15 years of experience in the information and technology industry including geospatial, sensor web, semantic web and legal information. Within OGC, he also serves as system architect in OGC Testbeds, leads OGC educational activities worldwide and supports activities related to earth sciences, health and the semantic web. He is Adjunct Professor in the GIS Masters Program at the University of Maryland. Before OGC, he was the Technical Manager at SURA and Technical Lead of the Marine Metadata Interoperability project at MBARI. In both positions he advanced technologies to support sharing and improvement of numerical models and the integration of ocean observing systems around the world.    (3ZB2)
