Dr. Dhaval Thakker is a research fellow in the Artificial Intelligence Group at the University of Leeds. He is currently working on Dicode, ImREAL and NeTTUN EU projects, where he leads the knowledge engineering and semantic web related themes. He has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Gujarat University, India, MSc in Data Communication Systems from the Brunel University, UK, and a PhD in Semantic Web Services Integration from the Nottingham Trent University, UK. Dr.Thakker's research interests are: semantic data exploration and semantic data analytics. He specializes in semantic web technologies,including knowledge representation using ontologies, knowledge base systems, Linked Data and semantic text mining. Prior to joining Leeds University, he worked for Press Association UK, where he led a project on development of semantic-enriched techniques for access to media repositories which was one of the few early adopters of Linked Data. Dr. Thakker was the lead organizer for two international workshops on intelligent exploration of semantic data (IESD). He is currently the UMAP project liaison and the lead organizer of UMAP Project Synergy Workshop(UMAPProS). (49QD)
