Benjamin Adams is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Computer Science at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) and a project scientist on the Scientific Observations Network (SONet) at the National Center for Ecological Analysis and Synthesis (NCEAS). His research interests include knowledge representation and the semantic web, data interoperability and integration, and observation-driven approaches to knowledge representation and discovery. Much of his work applies these notions in the geospatial domain, e.g., implementing geographic analog search tools and building computational models of place from unstructured data. He received the Best Research Demonstration award at the 2012 NGA NARP Symposium and Workshop. He was the program manager for the UCSB cognitive science program from 2010-2012. (3FZI)
