A draft of a conceptual model for systems of units and quantities, currently included as part of a proposed revision of the Object Management Group (OMG) Systems Modeling Language (SysML), is linked from a wiki page at http://www.omgwiki.org/OMGSysML/.
Quoting from the QUDV wiki page,
"A working group of the SysML 1.2 Revision Task Force (RTF), working in close coordination with the OMG MARTE specification group, has completed a proposed conceptual model for Quantities, Units, Dimensions, Values (QUDV) to define systems of units and
quantities for use in system models. This page is being maintained to coordinate with other groups and projects looking at similar topics. Both OMG SysML and OMG MARTE have the goal to share a common model of systems of units and quantities to support both
these specifications and to align them with future international standards.
"If accepted as part of the SysML 1.2 RTF revision process, a new non-normative Annex C.5, specifying the QUDV Conceptual Model, will be added to the Version 1.2 update of the SysML specification. This draft Annex is being made available here for anyone
who may find it useful or who can provide feedback"
The draft model was completed and made available on its public wiki page at the end of July 2009 after discussions and development by members of both the SysML and MARTE (Modeling and Analysis of Real Time and Embedded systems) standardization groups going
back to Winter 2008. Recent key contributions have been provided by the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) and the European Space Agency (ESA). A public discussion list, qudv@xxxxxxx, has been created for discussions specifically relating to this conceptual
model and its use in UML-derived modeling languages such as SysML and MARTE. The wiki page includes a variety of links including key sources such as the International Vocabulary of Metrology (VIM), with more references included in the document itself.
Minor fixes to this model may continue to be made prior to its final publication after all OMG review and adoption steps have been completed, but it is intended to serve as an interim means to define reference libraries of units and quantities for use
in UML-based system models such as those of SysML and MARTE. Please see the document itself for further information.
