Agreed, and the work on these terms is well under way in the financial
ontology work we are doing at the EDM Council. However, I want to be
able to relate financial microtheory concepts to parent concepts which
are more universally true, and not have some of those buried in some
physical science microtheory. I think that's achievable. Hence I think
it's important to be able to establish facts which are not restricted to
any one microtheory, and segregate these from facts which are. For
example we made reference to the CCTS terms for amount and quantity,
though we didn't follow those exactly (CCTS has them as peers whereas I
would regard one as being derivative of the other by the addition of a
property). (01)
I'll try and come up with some more concrete comments on the proposals
to date, which might make more sense of the above. Unfortunately I had a
few other things to catch up on first. (02)
