 == Proceedings: ==    (021)

[8:01] anonymous morphed into ChristophLange    (022)

[8:01] ChristophLange: Hi, I'm lurking in the chat for now; I hope to
join the call as soon as we really start    (023)

[8:07] PeterYim: == TillMossakowski starts the meeting ...    (024)

[8:08] PeterYim: Till: agenda: (i) Letter of Intent, (ii) continue
reviewing the WD    (025)

[8:08] PeterYim: === TillMossakowski: (i) Letter of Intent    (026)

[8:09] PeterYim: Till: two letters received so far ...    (027)

[8:10] TillMossakowski: OMG has got LOIs from Fraunhofer FOKUS and Thematix    (028)

[8:10] TillMossakowski: Magdeburg and Toronto intend to send LOIs    (029)

[8:11] TillMossakowski: Fraunhofer FOKUS and Thematix both are
platform members, that is, they can submit an answer to the RFP, and
also can vote.    (030)

[8:11] TillMossakowski: Deadline for LOIs is May 19th!    (031)

[8:11] PeterYim: Fabian: RickMurphy also said he will send a LOI too    (032)

[8:11] ChristophLange: Where can I see who is an OMG member? E.g.
whether Fraunhofer IAIS is a member too?    (033)

[8:13] TillMossakowski: OMG regulation says about LOIs: "Any
technology adopted by the OMG requires the submitting companies to
sign a Letter Of Intent (LOI) saying they will have a commercially
available product based on the technology within one year of it
becoming standard. In addition, they agree to freely license the
interfaces to anyone that wants to use it."    (034)

[8:14] TillMossakowski: @Christoph:
http://www.omg.org/cgi-bin/apps/membersearch.pl    (035)

[8:18] FabianNeuhaus: http://www.omg.org/cgi-bin/doc.cgi?loi    (036)

[8:18] TillMossakowski: becoming an OMG member:

[8:20] TillMossakowski: search for OMG members:
http://www.omg.org/cgi-bin/apps/membersearch.pl    (038)

[8:21] TillMossakowski: membership costs 550$ per year for universities    (039)

[8:22] PeterYim: scanning the membership list, some people we do have
contacts include, for example: NIST, MITRE, EDM Council, ...    (040)

[8:23] TillMossakowski: Leo Obrst is at MITRE    (041)

[8:25] anonymous morphed into ConradBock    (042)

[8:26] PeterYim: ConradBock is from NIST; MikeBennett is a possible
contact for EDM Council; ...    (043)

[8:26] TillMossakowski: I will ask Werner Stephan from Saarland
University, and Leo Obrst is at MITRE    (044)

[8:27] TillMossakowski: I will ask Holger Schlinghoff from Humboldt University    (045)

[8:27] PeterYim: ConradBock: the LOI needs to be signed by an
executive (not just anyone from the organization)    (046)

[8:35] PeterYim: Conrad: in general, the number of LOI's received for
a project is "three-ish"    (047)

[8:36] PeterYim: Till: we have (pretty much) four already; that should suffice    (048)

[8:40] TillMossakowski: http://www.omg.org/memberservices/membershipmatrix.htm    (049)

[8:47] TillMossakowski: LOI http://www.omg.org/cgi-bin/doc.cgi?loi    (050)

Council ; Mossakowski will contact LeoObrst of MITRE for an LOI    (051)

[8:56] PeterYim: == Till: (ii) continue reviewing the WD    (052)

[9:02] ZhimingLiu: @Till, it seems that i have not seen your new version    (053)

[9:02] PeterYim: the snapshot of the WD (which Till sent to the list
at the beginning of this call, is now also available as:
http://ontolog.cim3.net/file/work/OntoIOp/Team_confcall/2014-05-07_team-confcall_n.58/OMG_OntoIOp_spec_v0-5_snapshot--TillMossakowski_20140507e.pdf    (054)

[8:57] PeterYim: Till: let's postpone the discussion of the WD (given
that several people have to leave soon)    (055)

[8:59] FabianNeuhaus: Peter, you are breaking up.    (057)

[8:59] FabianNeuhaus: We cannot hear you.    (058)

[9:00] PeterYim: I will come to the next meeting as well ... I will
know more, by the next meeting (hopefully) how some of the services
(infrastructure-related ones, especially) will be picked up by others    (060)

[9:00] PeterYim: and will continue to observe from the listservs    (061)

[9:01] TerryLongstreth: @Peter: best wishes.    (062)
